From the Machine Hourly Window, there are many different viewing options that can be chosen from the settings menu. To access this menu, click on the settings icon in the top right corner to open the Settings Window. Clicking on any of the settings in this window will show the available options. Viewing settings for Shift, Target, Gauges, Columns, Display, and Print follow the same logic as the Area Level Whiteboard. Hours is a new category in Machine Hourly Window in Machine Level Whiteboard.

Gauges:

This setting allows for the display of 3 Gauges:

  • Goal

  • OEE

  • Uptime

  • Scrap

  • Availability

  • Performance

  • Variance

  • Quality ratio

to be shown in any preferred order or hidden altogether.

Variance:

Shoplogix added a new gauge on the whiteboard called Job Runtime Variance. This is available at both Machine and Area level. When the gauge is active, it shows the variance of the Actual/Available.

Variance = 0 when activities take exactly as long as expected.

Positive Variance occurs when activities take less time than expected.

Negative Variance occurs when activities take more time than expected

Shift Variance: Hourly Breakdown

The hour below shows that the job has 27 min available but ran for 60 min and hence a variance of -33 min

Shift Variance: Total Breakdown

The total variance of the shift is displayed at the bottom of the shifthours view which shows the combined variance of the entire shift. Total shift variance can be displayed in the Dashboard view for TV displays as well.

Cycle Settings:

Figure 5-18: Cycle Settings Window

  • Cycle Gauge allows cycles to be displayed in many different measures as listed in the following chart.

Display Name

Cycle Name

Measurement of Cycle

Cycle

Cycle Time

Time for one cycle

PPM

Parts per Minute

Number of parts made per minute

PPH

Parts per Hour

Number of parts made per hour

Part Cycle Time

Takt Time

Time between the start of production of one unit and the start of the next unit

SPM

Strokes per Minute

Number of strokes done per minute

SPH

Strokes per Hour

Number of strokes done per hour

  • Time Metric allows the displayed cycle time to be calculated based on three different time metrics (Uptime only (default) / Elapsed (total time) and Scheduled time).

  • Cycle Tolerance sets the cycle time tolerance limits. Over cycling machines are indicated by a light green gauge with a dark green ring. Cycle times within target are indicated by a solid green gauge.

  • Over-cycling Tolerance indicates cycle times outside the specified limits are by a red circle when enabled.

Goal and Scrap Targets:

Changing target settings adjusts the gauge colors for Goal and Scrap targets.

Goal Target: By default, Green is 75-100%, Yellow from 50-75%, and Red 0-50%.

Scrap Target: By default, Green is 0-2%, Yellow from 5-10%, and Red 10-100%.
