Advanced Analytics includes premium widget functionality where users can interact directly with the widgets to dig into the data set without having to create a brand new widget. This can save time and help users design widgets with more simplicity.
Drill-In
Drill-In is a powerful feature that allows users to dynamically graph a new grouping option to dive deeper into different dimensions of your data set without having to create a brand new widget.
To access Drill-In Right click on the data point that you wish to find more information:
Select the “Choose Another…” selection.
This will allow the other data fields to drill Into for your grouping:
For example - if you are selecting an OEE percentage you may wish to break this day by shift. There will be a new widget displaying the drill-in selection.
The data fields must be related and join somehow to your selection in order to make sense of the data. If the data field is not joined or unrelated you will not get any results and it may result in an error.
Multiple Drill-In layers are possible
To clear the Drilled selection and return to the original display; click on the close box in the upper left corner of the “Drilled-In” graph
Your graph will return to it’s original form.
Drill-In Data set requirements
Drill-In are not available for indicator widgets
Drill-in is not available when ‘break by’ is used when graphing
Interactive Pivot
Pivot tables are very powerful in displaying data sets and aggregating numbers. Interactive pivot is a feature that allows dynamic additions and removals of columns/rows to aggregate results without creating a brand new pivot table or adding subtotals to your data set.
Interactive Pivot can be enabled on tables in the Design section of widget:
Example - You may have a pivot table with daily Unit data
You may want to aggregate the data by Month without creating a new pivot table. Interactive pivot would allow users to remove fields - for example the Calendar column:
New Aggregated table through interactive pivot:
This column could be added back in by right clicking in the table:
Limitations
When the widget is on a drill state – it is not allowed to remove columns and rows
