Machine States Calculation and Example

This document explains how the machine states are calculated and set in the system.

The change between machine states is set by thresholds (tolerances) based on the expected cycle time (time from part to part).

Example of threshold settings:

  • Running threshold: 100%

  • Slow running threshold: 170%

  • Micro stop threshold: 600%

     

This means:

If the machine runs between 1 and 1.7 cycles, the first cycle will be labeled as Running and the other 0.7 of the cycle will be labeled as Slow Running.

If the machine stops briefly between 1.7 and 6 cycles, the first cycle will be labeled as Running and the remaining time will be labeled as Micro Stop.

If the machine stops for more than 6 cycles, the first cycle will be labeled as Running and the remaining time will be labeled as Idle.

This can be set in our system either as a percentage or in seconds.

Here is an example where the cycle time is 60 seconds. This means we expect to see a pulse every 60 seconds.

The last row in the picture illustrates how a customer can assign responsibilities by colour in the system.
