General dashboard access

  • Dashboards can be shared once a user logs in to analytics. 

  • Dashboards cannot be moved around (from/into folders). 

  • Access from direct portal link or via whiteboard analytics link.

  • To have full designer access, you need to log in using direct portal link. Accessing from the whiteboard analytics link will limit designer capabilities, even if you are the owner.

Dashboard layout

  • No access to creating new widgets, changing color palette, or sharing with other users (including setting up emailed reports)

  • Full access to add new widgets, changing color palette, and modifying shared users/emailed reports, adding dashboard columns

Dashboard settings (3 dots)

  • Able to duplicate, download as PDF/image, or restore dashboard. 

  • Restoring the dashboard will return the dashboard to its shared state. Any changes made as a viewer will be lost.

  • Able to duplicate, download as PDF/image, rename dashboard, and export. Can also share which will open the email reporting settings modal.

Widgets

  • Can only view from dashboard level. 

  • Widgets cannot be edited, including title and layout of widgets

  • Able to navigate into widgets, full customization access. 

  • On dashboard view, able to resize widgets and edit titles

Widget details

  • Can view widget details, but cannot add description

  • Able to view widget details and edit widget description

Filters (dashboard level)

  • If filters are not locked, able to edit existing filters, but cannot add/remove filters.

  • Full access to add/remove filters, edit existing filters, and lock/unlock filters.

Filters (widget level)

  • Can navigate into the widget by clicking ‘full screen’. 

  • Able to turn on/off existing filters, but cannot add new ones.

  • Full access to add/remove filters, edit existing filters, modify widget design

Limit on number of users

  • No limit on viewers

  • Best practice is to have at most 2 designers
